Super Coups - Lisa Ritchie

Did you ever feel like your career was unfulfilling and that you had more to offer than your job provided.  It's as if you were a thoroughbred and were never allowed to really run and experience your own potential.

Our entrepreneur this month felt just like that. Instead of making excuses for staying in her unsatisfying job, she took the steps and decided to do something about it.

Congratulations Lisa, and welcome to the world of entrepreneurship!

Lisa Ritchie was a branch manager for a local personnel service.  She was just tired of doing it for someone else's (her employer's) benefit. Ritchie also felt like she wanted personal growth. She knew that she had the skills and the ambition to do more than she could in her current career.
"I love cold calling," said Lisa. This was one for the record books-
-cold calling?  No one loves cold calling.  But this spunky, outgoing mother of two was serious. Everyone knew that she was very good at networking. She loved developing strong relationships with people and was good at it.

As the mother of two small boys, she also wanted to have more flexible hours and more control over those hours and over her future.  In her words, she wanted more possibilities.

Ritchie evaluated several different business models and found that a business to business sales model seemed to fit her lifestyle goals and skill set best. A home-based business gave her the flexibility she was looking for. She found that SuperCoups, a direct mail advertising business, fit her need for flexibility and variety and was a perfect use for her relationship building skills. As an advertising professional, Lisa is able to help local retail and service businesses build their brand with direct mail marketing methods resulting in new customers and additional sales.

Lisa started in March of 2006 and was the 2007 SuperCoups Rookie of the year.  "I couldn't be happier with my decision. I am building a solid client base and having fun every step of the way. I love having the chance to help other businesses grow. Personally, being my own boss has allowed me the flexibility to be around more for my children. That flexibility is payment in itself."

Using the experience that Lisa gained from SuperCoups, she along with two business partners, took that knowledge and experience to launch another business, The Business Networker.  This monthly publication is targeted to small business owners and decision makers.  It provides information on networking how-to's, upcoming networking meetings and other helpful business tips.

"Next to motherhood, building my own business has been both the greatest and toughest endeavor of my life.  I believe the possibilities are endless, love what I do, and would happily make the same choice today."

Are you experiencing your full potential? Do you feel like something is missing in your career? You don't want to look back years from now thinking, I coulda shoulda, or if only....  Lisa has let out her reigns and is experiencing "how fast she can really run" with no regrets. Exhilarating!
